There is an access to the local train station from the Terminal 3 at Malaga airport. From there, you can catch a train into Malaga city with the last stop in front of El Cortes Ingles shopping centre. If your destination is located further east (passed Malaga), for example Nerja or Torrox, then you will have to take a bus at Malaga bus station.
The last train station in the western direction is Fuengirola. On the way, this train stops at some of the main cities on the Costa del Sol like Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Arroyo de la Miel, Torrequebrada or Los Boliches.
Don't miss Plaza Mayor shopping centre. It has cinemas, many restaurants, and shops. It's located close to Malaga airport and the west line train usually stops there. For further information and timetables of Malaga trains, click on the following link to visit the train company's website Renfe.
